Day by Day Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Arusha or Moshi. Drive through scenic landscapes dotted with small villages and acacia trees before reaching Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Spend the day on a full game drive, exploring the riverine areas where wildlife gathers, especially in the dry season.
Here, you may encounter lions resting in the shade, giraffes browsing the treetops, and large herds of zebras and wildebeests grazing along the riverbanks. Tarangire is also a birdwatcher’s paradise with hundreds of species to spot. In the evening, enjoy the sunset over the baobabs before settling into your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive through the lush Ngorongoro highlands, passing scenic farmland and traditional Maasai villages, on your way to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the endless plains, home to some of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife.
Expect to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and large herds of wildebeests and zebras. The Serengeti offers unmatched photography opportunities with vast savannah landscapes, acacia trees, and dramatic skies. As evening approaches, return to your lodge or tented camp to enjoy dinner under the African stars.
Day 3: Serengeti Game Drive and Transfer to Ngorongoro
Start the day early with a sunrise game drive in Serengeti, when wildlife is most active and predators begin hunting. Spend the morning exploring the park, observing cheetahs sprinting across the plains, lions on the prowl, and large herbivore herds grazing peacefully.
After a late morning game drive, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking in sweeping views of highland scenery and volcanic hills along the way. Arrive at your lodge near the crater rim in the late afternoon, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night with spectacular views over the surrounding landscapes.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return
On your final day, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most remarkable natural wonders of Africa. The crater floor hosts a dense concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and leopards. Hippos lounge in freshwater pools, flamingos gather along Lake Magadi, and zebras and wildebeests roam freely.
Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. Afterward, ascend the crater rim and drive back to Arusha or Moshi, concluding your 4-day Tanzania private safari with memories of incredible wildlife sightings, stunning landscapes, and a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
