This itinerary offers a better success rate compared to the shorter version:

Day by Day Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp
Your climb begins with a drive from Moshi or Arusha to Umbwe Gate for registration. Trek through dense rainforest along steep and narrow trails.
The ascent is immediate and challenging, leading to Umbwe Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp
Continue trekking through forest into moorland terrain. The trail becomes more exposed with impressive views of valleys and ridges.
Arrive at Barranco Camp, located beneath the famous Barranco Wall, where you will rest and acclimatize.
Day 3: Barranco Camp β Acclimatization Day
Spend the day acclimatizing at Barranco Camp. You may take a short hike to higher elevations before returning to camp.
This additional day helps your body adjust to altitude, increasing your chances of a successful summit.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Climb the Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical scramble with rewarding views. Continue trekking through valleys and ridges toward Karanga Camp.
This shorter trekking day allows for further acclimatization and rest.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Ascend gradually through alpine desert terrain to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt.
Arrive early, rest, and prepare for the midnight climb with an early dinner and sleep.
Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Begin your summit attempt around midnight, trekking under the stars to Stella Point and onward to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Witness a breathtaking sunrise from the summit.
After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight. This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. Enjoy the final moments of your Kilimanjaro journey as you reach lower altitudes.
